Youth Work Celebrated by Night Walk

More than 200 young people walked up Peel Hill using torch light earlier this week in celebration of National Youth Work Week.

The event was organised by the Isle of Man Youth Service, which offers young people somewhere to go, something to do, and someone to talk to during evenings, weekends, and school holidays.

Sarah Maltby, Political Member for DESC, said: “It was fantastic to see more than 250 young people, youth workers, and parent volunteers join Minister Daphne Caine for Garff and me for this inaugural walk.

“Thank you to Civil Defence for their assistance and to every single Youth Worker for their commitment and service to the communities they serve.”

The national campaign highlights the importance of making youth work accessible to everyone and helping young people find their sense of belonging and identity within their communities.
