Onchan Silver Band completed a clean sweep at the Guild this weekend, winning every class it entered.
The band won best march section, best hymn tune, best concert programme, and best overall programme.
With the band as a collective winning those four classes, Chris Quayle won best soloist playing the euphonium.
The band said: “The 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 the band has won the overall entertainment prize, the Jimmy Crosbie Memorial Rose Bowl, and we’re delighted to once again win the Gordon Kennaugh Astill Memorial Trophy, for the most entertaining band, in memory of Gordon Astill who led the band as Musical Director for almost 50 years and the first time a clean sweep of all five trophies in the brass band classes!
