Commissioner Raises Concerns Over Omitted Agenda Items

A Peel Commissioner has voiced frustration ahead of a general meeting, claiming that none of her submitted agenda items or motions have been included in the agenda.

The meeting is due to take place at 7pm tonight at Peel Town Hall on Derby Road, where commissioners will discuss a range of scheduled business.

In a statement, Commissioner Katryna Baptist said that several items she had requested for discussion were absent from the published agenda.

These included a proposed question and answer session on recent investigations, as well as a request for an explanation regarding her removal as lead member for events and youth, along with an opportunity to respond.

She had also submitted motions for inclusion on the public agenda, including proposals to introduce digital recording of meetings to improve transparency and to reform the preparation and approval process of meeting minutes.

The official agenda, issued by the Town Clerk, instead focuses on standard items such as confirmation of previous minutes, operational updates, and broader policy discussions, with no reference to the submitted topics.
