A Floating Issue

Marown Commissioners says it merely requested Marown Memorial Playing Fields ‘consideration’ for it to fund the public toilets.

The commissioners say it is “extremely disappointing” that the playing fields replied to it’s letter via social media, rather than to the local authority.

For transparency purposes, the Commissioners feel it would be beneficial to show the letter sent to the playing fields:

The commissioners say it “merely requested their ‘consideration’ as the facility is on their privately owned land”.

It would still like to engage in conversation with the playing fields and urges them to contact Marown Clerk by e-mail or letter.

Toiletgate

In a post on Facebook, the playing fields blamed the Commissioners saying:

“The Playing Fields Voluntary Committee cannot afford to run the public toilet having received no funds from the Commissioners to help maintain & upgrade our facilities for several years, despite many requests.

“At present the electricity & water costs for this public toilet are paid for by the Charity.”

Marown Playing Fields asked members of the public raise this matter with any prospective Commissioner candidates.
