The DoI has opened an online public consultation on proposed 20mph speed limits for some roads in the north of the island.
The move follows Tynwald’s backing of a policy to introduce 20mph zones in residential areas.
Maps, information, and a feedback form are available at https://20mph.gov.im.
The DoI says that where possible, maps will also be displayed at local authority offices during regional consultation periods.
The proposed limits aim to improve road safety, encourage walking and cycling, reduce pollution, and create more people-friendly streets.
Infrastructure Minister Dr Michelle Haywood said: “The Department is determined to find the right solutions for every community. Gathering local knowledge and experience is a vital part of this process.”
She added: “I would urge anyone interested in the proposals to look at the maps on the website to see what is planned. The Department welcomes all responses from the public. Please remember, nothing is set in stone.”
The northern consultation is now live, with the central area running from 1 September to 27 October, and the south from 3 November to 22 December.
