With rumours continuing on the adjacent island that Keir Starmer will seek a youth movement scheme with the EU, the Chief Minister is to be asked if islanders could benefit.
He will be asked whether the island has asked to be included by Julie Edge (Onchan) when Tynwald sits next week.
While the island had a relationship with the EU through the UK, it was never a member and freedom of movement as it existed between the UK and EU did not extend to the Crown Dependencies.
With Sir Keir keen to seek a refreshed relationship with the EU in a post-Brexit world, it has long been expected an arrangement will be created that would allow young people, probably aged 18-30, a form of free movement.
It is expected that if it were to happen this would allow young Brits to live and work in Europe and Europeans the same rights in the UK for a period of up to two years without requiring work permits or any sponsorship visas.
