Douglas Council is looking to trial permanently pedestrianising part of North Quay to encourage footfall and growth in the area.
Currently, it’s only closed off on weekends and bank holidays during the spring and summer, along with specific events during the autumn and winter.
The local authority says it will be carrying out consultations with residents, local businesses and customers, as well as looking at offering additional disabled parking.
There would also be an exception for loading and deliveries, which would be carried out between 7am and 10am.
Leader of Douglas Council Claire Wells says the scheme would allow business owners in the area to invest further in the area around them.
