The dates of refuse and recycling collections in the capital during the festive period have been confirmed by Douglas City Council.
As Christmas Day this year falls on a Wednesday, homes that would normally be due to receive a collection on that day will instead have their waste picked up on Saturday, December 28.
Residents are asked to place their wheelie bin out on the evening of Friday, December 27 for collection on the Saturday morning.
Festive Collection Dates
The same will apply for those whose refuse collection is scheduled for New Year’s Day with the collection now taking place on Saturday, January 4.
All other refuse collections across the capital will continue as usual over Christmas and New Year, including on Boxing Day.
Kerbside collections will also go ahead as scheduled, with the exception of households in Rounds three and four (who will have their recycling collected on Monday, December 23) and those in Round 5 (Saturday, December 28).
The New Year’s Day kerbside collection will take place on Saturday, January 4.
