Jamie Coward Ruled Out of TT

Jamie Coward has announced he will miss this year’s TT after sustaining injuries in a crash at the Northwest 200.

In a heartfelt statement, Coward expressed his devastation at being sidelined, citing a “really serious head injury” as the primary reason for his withdrawal.

“Unfortunately with my injuries, the main one been a really serious head injury, I won’t be able to compete at the Isle of Man TT races,” he said. “I am absolutely devastated about it.”

Coward thanked the marshals, medics, nurses, and doctors who treated him, as well as team owner Kevin and main sponsor Stanley Stewart.

He also apologised to his team, sponsors, and supporters, feeling he had let them down after their collective efforts in preparing for the TT.

Gutted

“Like to apologise to the KTS Macadam factory racing and the KTS racing team, all their sponsors and everyone involved with both teams,” he said.

“We all work towards the Isle of Man TT races and feel like I’ve let everyone down. Gutted is an understatement.”

Coward had been in strong form before the crash, describing his recent performances as some of his best, saying “I’d been riding and feeling the best I’d ever felt on the bike”.

This year’s TT gets underway on Monday.
