Fire crews tackled a bedroom fire in Douglas this morning after being mobilised shortly after 11am this morning.
Teams from Douglas and Laxey, along with the Duty Officer, arrived to find all occupants safely out of the property.
Four firefighters in breathing apparatus extinguished the blaze using a hose reel jet, before carrying out thermal imaging checks to ensure it hadn’t spread.
Crews remained on scene for around an hour.
The service said the incident highlights the importance of working smoke alarms, which provide vital early warning and time to escape.
Residents are urged to ensure alarms are fitted and regularly tested.
