TT rider Jamie Cringle says he faces a long recovery after returning home to the Isle of Man following serious injuries sustained in this year’s crash.
Cringle said he made it back to the island on Wednesday night, thanking his sister Samantha for helping him travel home as his mobility remains “very limited”.
He revealed new details about the extent of the damage to his right leg after seeing fresh X‑rays during a pre‑op appointment. Around 80mm of bone is missing, something he described as “a shock to the system” when viewed on screen.
Doctors have told him he will need 8 to 12 months in an external cage, assuming no pins snap, followed by another year of rehabilitation once it is removed.
Cringle said he was overwhelmed by donations to his GoFundMe, calling the support “a massive weight lifted” and thanking everyone who has contributed.
