Jamie Cringle, who was injured in a crash during this year’s Supersport race, has been readmitted to a specialist unit in Liverpool after developing a serious infection following his discharge from Noble’s Hospital.
Cringle left Noble’s Hospital on Friday evening but was back within 24 hours.
“On Friday evening I managed to get discharged from Nobles, unfortunately this only lasted just over 24 hours as we realised my back had got infected and had a hole in it,” he said.
He spent from Saturday evening to Monday at Noble’s before being transferred back to the Walton Centre yesterday.
The 26-year-old is awaiting further assessment to determine the length of his stay.
“I’m still waiting to see what they’re going to do, it could either be a long time here or could be a few days hopefully find more out tomorrow,” he added.
Despite the setback, Cringle reports that his physical strength is improving, although breathing remains difficult when seated upright.
“Other than that my body is getting stronger and some things are becoming easier, just struggling with my breathing once I’m sat up in a chair.”
He extended thanks to supporters, saying: “Big thanks to everyone who has donated and who still is means a lot to me.”
