Local man David Higson has set himself the monumental challenge of swimming the 100 miles around the Isle of Man to raise funds for local charity, Isle Stand up to Suicide.
Isle Stand up to Suicide is a telephone helpline for people who are suicidal and need to reach out for help on the Isle of Man.
The charity is run by volunteers who are trained to answer calls and to signpost the callers to appropriate support.
100 miles for charity
Isle Stand up to Suicide is the the only Suicide prevention charity on the Isle of Man.
Dave has been training all winter to get ready for the challenge in the hope to raise funds for the mighty cause.
This summer he plans to swim solo around the Isle of Man towing a raft with all the food, equipment and camping gear he will need for the swim.
He will need a weather window of 4-5 days to complete the challenge and hopes to swim around 20 miles a day to complete the swim
If you want to get behind Dave and Isle Stand up to Suicide take a gander at his fundraising page and help where you can!
Best of luck Dave!
