Dog walkers in Ramsey might soon be able to use a self-service dog washing unit on Mooragh Promenade.
A proposal for the project was submitted to the planning committee by John Tear of Doggy Wash IOM for a site on the north end of the prom adjacent to the Elsan Chemical Toilet Disposal.
If successful, a three-sided wooden shelter would be built.
The proposal stated: “Although Mooragh Park itself is closed to dogs, the surrounding dog-friendly areas are very popular, and Mooragh Prom, the beach and nearby walking trails create a natural hub for dog owners.
“By positioning a unit in this area, the town can introduce a forward-thinking service that is already proven elsewhere, while adding value to one of Ramsey’s most popular public areas.”
