The DoI has submitted plans to demolish 31 disused prefabricated garages and a former electrical sub-station at Janet’s Corner in Castletown.
The structures, described as “in poor condition” with “degraded roof felt” and “rusting reinforcement,” will be removed to improve safety and aesthetics.
A planning statement said: “The buildings on the site have not been used for some time and are run down.
“Some of the existing roof felt has blown off in inclement weather, and most of the garage doors are stuck or inoperable due to rust.”
The demolition aims to “make the site safe and look more presentable” ahead of future redevelopment.
