The Department of Infrastructure (DOI) has issued a warning to to drivers who are ignoring “Road Closed” signs.
A statement issued by the Island’s highway authority said they had received several reports of vehicles driving on the A18 Mountain Road between Ramsey and The Bungalow. The section is closed due to a land slip.
Offence driving on closed roads
The DOI are warning that it is an offence to use a road if barriers and a “Road Closed” sign is in place.

Land slip
The closure will remain in place until Tuesday (January 2), at the earliest, while work is ongoing.
A spokesperson said work is currently underway to try and stabilise the area.
It follows on from Storm Gerrit earlier in the week, which is when the landslip occurred.
Weather damage
During the storm, Station Officer for the Isle of Man Fire and Rescue Service, David Cowley said that there had been substantial damage to properties and vehicles.
As a result of the flooding and crews were continuing to do their best to assist.
Heavy rain and wind overnight caused tress to come down and roads flood.
The Fire service are recommended that homeowners check their drains to ensure that they are not blocked with leaves and other debris.
