Do not leave it too late to get sorted if you want to vote by post in the House of Keys General Election.
The government is urging those who want to use a postal vote, rather than attend a polling station on September 24, to ensure they apply in time.
If you want to vote by post that means you need to apply for, and return, your voter pack by the following deadlines:
September 1 if you live outside the Isle of Man and the British Isles.
September 10 if you live in the British Isles.
September 16 if you are in the Isle of Man.
Students who expect to leave the island for university or college, in particular are urged to apply early.
Postal votes can be sent to addresses in the Isle of Man, UK and overseas.
You must be 16 or over and on the electoral register to be eligible to vote. The deadline to register to vote is August 25.

To apply for a postal vote, download the application form for your constituency from the General Election website or contact the Elections team and ask for a paper form to be posted to you – email elections@gov.im or call 685754.
Then send or deliver completed postal voter applications to the Elections Team, Cabinet Office, Ground Floor, Custom House, Bank Hill, Douglas IM1 4LL, or email elections@gov.im.
Postal voter ballot packs will not arrive before September 2, a week after election candidates have been confirmed.
You can then return the pack to the Deputy Returning Officer for the relevant constituency before 5pm on September 23.
Who can vote
Where necessary, postal ballot packs can be hand-delivered at any polling station in your constituency between 8am and 8pm on election day.
If you cannot cast your vote at a polling station or in advance by post, you can apply for a proxy vote to have someone vote on your behalf.
Valid reasons include a medical emergency or urgent, required business travel overseas. Applications are considered on a case-by-case basis by the Electoral Registration Officer. For more information visit the general election website
