Fire crews rescued a driver trapped in the cab of a heavy goods vehicle after it left the road and crashed into a ditch in the Eairy area earlier today.
Emergency services were called at 12.36pm to the single‑vehicle collision, which involved an HGV that had come off the roadway and come to rest in a roadside ditch.
The driver was unable to get out due to injuries sustained in the crash.
Firefighters carried out a door removal to safely free the casualty, who was then handed over to paramedics from the Ambulance Service. Police also attended the scene.
Crews remained in attendance for around an hour while the incident was made safe.
