Don’t forget the lower sections of the course will open at 5pm and close at 6pm ahead of this evening’s Sportbike race at 6:30pm.
Michael Dunlop sealed his 34th TT crown after a dominant performance to win the first Supersport race.
He has won nine Supersport races in a row but was made to work hard by the Honda rider.
Mike Browne was the first on the road out to Glen Helen, but it was Dean Harrison who led early on, leading Michael Dunlop by 1.599 seconds, with Brown
By the time the leaders got to Harrison’s home of Ballaugh, that lead had been stretched to 2.123 seconds, with Brown 7.9 seconds back in third ahead of Paul Jordan, Peter Hickman and Dom Herbertson.
Dunlop had clawed back a second on the run into Ramsey as he looked to reel in the Yorkshireman heading up the Mountain and was just two tenths of a second behind at Cronk Ny Mona.
As they entered the pit at the end of lap one, Dunlop had taken the lead by 0.127 seconds over Harrison, however Browne’s chance of a podium seemed to be lost as incurred a 30 second penalty for being 0.9kmh over the pit lane speed limit.
Lap Two
While Harrison usually is lightning in the first sector, Dunlop led by 2.317 seconds at Glen Helen with Jordan in third ahead of Herbertson in fourth, Hickman and Herbertson.
By Balluagh the Ballymoney man had stretched out his lead to 4.054 seconds as he continued to show why he has been the undisputed king of the Supersport class since the event returned in 2022.
With a successful climb up the Mountain under his belt, Dunlop led by 9.616 seconds at Bungalow, but it was the battle for the final podium position that was drawing interest as Hickman continued to hunt down Jordan, closing the gap to 5.985 seconds.
Final Lap
After the run down from the Mountain, Dunlop led by 12.556 seconds while Jordan was just 1.815 clear of Hickman in the battle for third, with Hertberson, Brookes, Coward, Hutchinson, Anderson and Browne completing the top 10.
By Glen Helen, Hickman had moved 2.378 seconds ahead of Jordan into third, as the latter looked to find a way past Browne on the road to find a fight back.
After flying through Sulby at 176.183mph, Dunlop led by 21.833 seconds at Ramsey Hairpin with Hickman enjoying at 9.538 lead over Jordan in fourth, with Herbertson and Brookes completing the top six.
With the crowd, happy to be enjoying the warm sun after such a damp start today, clapping the leaders down the Mountain, Dunlop was able to enjoy himself and head across the line and into the celebrations with the SCARS Racing team.
Harrison, Hickman and Jordan completed the top four.
