Michael Dunlop praised his team for great pit stop on the way to winning this afternoon’s Supersport race.
He claimed his 34th TT win for the ninth time in the class, winning by 24.470 seconds from Dean Harrison.
The Northern Irishman overcame tricky damp conditions with his winning lap speed of 127.672mph.
“To be honest, they were everywhere,” Dunlop said of the wet patches. “I didn’t think they were going to be, you know, conditions were just damp in weird places.”
Dunlop added: “The boys done a fantastic pit stop, you know, but I knew Dean is saying you was going to be hot now and I knew just just better than to bear into it, better than to just keep yourself going and I knew right there.
“Then I says right up the pace, Michael, because I know what pace when the bike’s good, and I’m feeling good, I know what I can do. So it just kept slowly but surely up on the pace.”
The victory marks Dunlop’s 16th Supersport win. Peter Hickman completed the podium in third, despite pit stop problems.
“The fuel cap wouldn’t come off the tank, so I lost a load of time,” Hickman said, adding the conditions were “probably one of the wettest I think I’ve ever seen on the TT circuit.”
