In the early hours of this morning Kirk Michael crews were called to a property filling with smoke off the main road Ballaugh.
The owner had returned home to find smoke issuing from the kitchen and promptly called 999.
Crews used extinguishers to put out the fire and then set to clearing the premises of smoke.
The cause is believed to be an electric fan heater which had either fallen over or was too close to fixtures and fittings.
