The organisers of the Isle of Man TT will carry out a test of the event’s electronic flag system tomorrow morning.
The test is set to activate electronic flags around the TT course between 6:30am and 7:30am.
The digital flags form part of the TT’s Safety Management System, providing an additional layer alongside the traditional marshal operated red flag system.
The technology allows the Clerk of the Course to issue an instant course wide stoppage signal, improving the speed and visibility of warnings for riders, marshals and officials.
The electronic displays, positioned at flag points around the course, will illuminate simultaneously during the test window. Organisers say there will be no impact on public road access, and road users do not need to take any action.
TT Clerk of the Course Gary Thompson MBE BEM said the test is part of final safety preparations ahead of this year’s races.
“While the large square displays are clearly not traffic signals, we want to ensure the public is aware that this test is taking place and that no action is needed during the display,” he said.
“We’ve selected an early morning window to minimise any disruption, and as always, we appreciate the patience and understanding of residents and road users.”
