Yesterday (June 4) afternoon, a group of four off-road Enduro riders were stopped by the DEFA Countryside Ranger and Police as they had travelled ‘unlawfully off-piste’.
The group has travelled across the Snaefell area of the DEFA upland estate, and all four were subsequently issued with Fixed Penalty Notices by Police on the scene for breaching Section 28 under the Road Traffic Act.
The department want to reiterate its message of ‘Stay on the right track’.
Don’t go off-piste
Anyone caught away from a legal greenway or green lane is in contravention of Section 28 of the Road Traffic Act and the Forestry Act 1984 and may be prosecuted.
