Environmental Surveys at Earystane

Manx Utilities says its contractors are to carry out wildlife and environmental surveys in the Earystane and Scards areas.

This will form part of the Environmental Impact Assessment and ongoing supportive survey for the proposed and somewhat controversial wind farm plans.

Through the coming months, the Wardell Armstrong SLR team consisting of up to six ecologists and surveyors will be conducting additional studies to better understand the seasonal local wildlife and habitats to ensure that the windfarm project is carried out responsibly, should the development progress.

These surveys will focus on bats, birds, frogs long-eared owls and raptors.

You can find full details of the surveys here.
