Ever Thought About Joining The Police?

The Constabulary has launched a new recruitment campaign, inviting applications for both full-time constables and volunteer special constables.

The campaign runs until March 20, with the force encouraging people from all backgrounds to consider a “rewarding role in policing”.

Successful applicants for the full-time role will begin with a 16-week initial training course, the first stage of a two-year programme.

For those not ready to commit full-time, the role of Special Constable offers a way to experience policing first-hand.

Specials are volunteer officers with the same powers and uniform as regular colleagues and are asked to volunteer at least 100 hours annually.

The Constabulary is holding several in-person events for potential applicants to learn more, including drop-in sessions and an open day.

Mandatory fitness and assessment tests are scheduled for April and May.

Application details and guidance are available via the JobTrain website (starting salary is £35k).
