Experience the Magic of Oie Voaldyn

Tomorrow afternoon Peel will the return of Oie Voaldyn Fire and Folk Festival.

The event invites residents and visitors alike to celebrate the island’s rich cultural heritage against the historical backdrop of Peel Castle.

The festival will showcase a mix of contemporary and traditional music, dance, and theatre.

Visitors can expect a range of performances, workshops, and interactive activities from 2pm until late.

With community and inclusivity at the heart of this event, organisers invite participants of all ages to celebrate the Isle of Man’s unique heritage.

Attendees will have the opportunity to meet new people, make memories, and celebrate together whilst engaging with the island’s traditional culture in a whole new way.

Event organiser, John Shakespeare said: “We want people to experience the magic of Oie Voaldyn and become part of something really special. 

“The festival is a family-friendly event, with activities for all ages. Whether you’re interested in learning about the Manx language, enjoying live music, or simply want to discover more about the island’s cultural identity, the festival promises something for everyone.”

Viewing Platform

To ensure the festival is welcoming to everyone, a new accessibility viewing platform will be available for disabled attendees, offering a clear, elevated view of the main performances.

This initiative aims to create a more inclusive experience for all and has been generously funded by PwC Isle of Man. 

The festival organisers are committed to making this year’s event sustainable, with a focus on reducing waste and supporting eco-friendly practices throughout the weekend.
