Manx BirdLife have welcomed their first school group onto the Manx BirdLife Point of Ayre National Reserve.
Children from Ballaugh School took in the sights and sounds of newly opened reserve.
Manx BirdLife says that the clouds overhead did not dampen their spirits as they made their way along the path between banks of colourful flowers.

Highlights of the walk included a raucous skein of Greylag Geese flying overhead, Cormorants busy nesting on ‘Cormorant Island’, and frantic flocks of Sand Martins wheeling over the water in search of insects.
Great Black-backed, Herring, and Common Gulls can all be seen from the hide, so it was a great opportunity to learn the differences between these species of conservation concern.
