Local resident Mark Firth has announced that he will stand as a candidate for Arbory, Castletown & Malew in the Isle of Man’s 2026 General Election.
He says he is entering the race with a focus on practical representation and a commitment to supporting people who continue to face hardship.
Firth, who has lived on the Isle of Man for 25 years and grew up in the south of the island, said he cares deeply about ensuring the island remains a strong place to live, work and build a future.

He highlighted his background as a mechanic, a profession he has worked in for the past 15 years, as a key influence on his approach to problem‑solving and helping people when things go wrong.
Alongside his trade, Firth has been active in the island’s music scene for a decade, working as a performer, promoter and sound engineer.
He has collaborated with groups including Spinnin Vannin and Skimmee Aile, and says his involvement in local events has strengthened his appreciation for community life and the island’s cultural identity.
Firth said these combined experiences have shaped his understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing residents, and form the foundation of the values he intends to bring to his campaign.
