The Government’s Freedom of Information request responses have been taken offline following an alleged data breach.
Manx Radio reported “that the FOI platform currently allows any member of the public to retrieve FOI requests submitted by specific individuals, organisations, or addresses”.
The state-funded radio station found that the search platform’s ‘keywords’ function can identify who submitted particular requests.

Searching a specific postcode returns all requests linked to that entity or location.
Manx Radio claims that “individuals – whether private citizens, journalists, or representatives of organisations – can be directly linked to specific FOI requests”.

The Information Commissioner confirmed it is investigating the issue.
Manx.News have approached Isle of Man Government.
