Changes to Northern Ireland Post

A new set of rules coming into effect next month will see changes to post going to Northern Ireland.

The Windsor Framework is a new set of rules coming into effect on May 1.

It aims to make it easier to move goods between Great Britain (including the Isle of Man) and Northern Ireland, while also protecting the EU market.

Changes

If you’re sending goods, you may need to provide a bit more information.

This will help reduce delays, avoid customs charges, and ensure goods arrive without extra checks.

The information required will depend on:

  • Whether you’re a business or an individual;
  • Whether the recipient is a business or an individual.

Take Note

The Isle of Man Post Office is working with its UK logistics partner on a solution to help customers meet the requirements set out by His Majesty’s Revenue & Customs.

Some key things to note are that most letters and documents are not affected, as well as items sent through post boxes or post offices using stamps.

For full details, please visit the Post Office’s Windsor Framework page.
