The Police have marked four consecutive years without a single fatality on open roads during the TT or MGP festival periods.
A statement from the Constabulary said this achievement reflects the dedication of agencies, emergency services, and the wider community, all working together to keep residents and visitors safe.
As well as no recorded deaths, the past four years have seen the number of collisions has fallen and the severity of incidents drop.
A police spokesperson said: “This progress is attributed to a series of coordinated measures.
“These include enhanced roadside response, with Roads Policing Officers now trained to advanced first aid levels.
“Faster medical response times have been achieved by strategically positioning medics around the island.”
Engagement
The Police also praised the DoI for continuing to review speed limits and operating the TT mountain one-way system as well as proactive safety engagement from the Road Safety Team has provided visitors with key advice.
Chair of the Road Safety Partnership, Superintendent Danny Rotchell, added: “The continued safety of our roads during these festivals is no accident. It is the result of months of preparation, strong teamwork, and the commitment of everyone involved.”
“We are grateful to all partners and to the public for playing their part in keeping our island safe.”
