The Isle of Man Financial Services Authority (IOMFSA) has issued an update to its public warning over a fraudulent entity impersonating licensed firm FIM Capital Limited.
Recent scams have circulated via Telegram, a platform the legitimate firm confirmed it does not use.
The Authority stated: “The bogus entity may use details of genuine FIM Capital staff members but the hyperlink supplied for further details is not in any way linked to the genuine FIM Capital Limited.”
Regulated
“The genuine FIM Capital Limited is licensed to undertake a number of regulated activities in the Isle of Man,” the IOMFSA said. “They have confirmed that the bogus entity is in no way connected to them or their business activities.”
Concerned individuals are urged to contact FIM Capital directly through its verified website, www.fimcapital.co.im.
The Authority warned: “Any person who has followed the links on the bogus social media posts may potentially become the victim of fraud or it may be an attempt at gaining personal data to steal their identity.”

Victims are advised to report incidents to local police and submit cyber concerns via the Isle of Man Cyber Security Centre’s online form.
