Two people were arrested yesterday for cycling on the Mountain Road near Windy Corner, despite clear signs stating that cycling is banned during the TT period.
The Constabulary said the restriction, which remains in place until June 9, is there for safety and applies to all residents and visitors.
The Mountain Road has already been closed several times due to collisions, and officers are urging riders and drivers to ride to the conditions and stay within their limits.
Another Arrest
In a separate incident, a man was arrested after drinking and attempting to ride near Bushy’s and the funfair on Douglas Promenade.
Police said they want people to enjoy TT but to do so responsibly, reminding the public to plan their journey home and avoid drinking and driving.
Extra transport options are in place, including Bus Vannin Night Owl services, the enhanced TT timetable, taxis and lifts with friends or designated drivers.
Officers also repeated warnings about entering closed roads, following further reports of people stepping onto the course. Police say anyone doing so risks prosecution and endangers riders, marshals and spectators.
Despite the arrests, the Constabulary thanked the majority of people who enjoyed the opening day safely and urged everyone to continue making sensible decisions throughout the TT period.
