Tyson Fury has finalised a deal for the a long-awaited bout with fierce rival Anthony Joshua, which Ring Magazine reports will see the WBA super heavyweight world title up for grabs.

Set to take place at the Principality Stadium on December 11, Saudi Arabian Government official and co-founder of Zuffa Boxing, Turki Alalshikh, reported on social media that the fight would take place in Britain, while Cardiff Council confirmed that the two would take to the ring in the early hours of the morning to cater to US television audiences. Netflix have secured streaming rights for the event.

Island resident Fury had frequently taken aim at Joshua in the lead up to the historic face-off, and the fight threatened to collapse when the “Gypsy King” expressed his desire to seek alternative options, however the bout has been salvaged and arguably makes for the biggest event in British boxing history.

Fury comes into the fight with a record of 36 wins, two losses and one draw, while Joshua boasts 30 wins and four losses, with a monstrous 27 of those triumphs achieved by knockout. There had been question marks as to whether the latter would make a return to the ring at all, having been involved in a horror car crash in Nigeria, which tragically claimed the lives of his personal trainer and strength and conditioning coach.

Both fighters will now make preparations and are due to appear at a joint press conference in London on Wednesday (September 30).
