Callum Gawne delivered one of the greatest moments in Manx sporting history this weekend as he smashed the Parish Walk record by over 17 minutes.
The Onchan man secured a second Parish Walk title ahead of French debutant Vincent De Bontin.
Gawne came in with a final time of 14:22:45, beating Richard Gerrard’s 2017 record by an astonishing 17 minutes and 23 seconds.
Speaking to Manx.News Callum said he was “elated” and thanked everyone for their support around the island, especially from the children he has coached in Peel and Onchan.
De Bontin came in with a time of 15h15m20s, which would have been a winning time in many previous years, while Simon Gawne set a new personal best with 15h29m33s.
