After more than two years away from serious competition with persistent injury problems, Gemma Astin made her return on Friday, and typically, she did it in style.
Competing in the Sale Harriers ‘Sale Sizzler’ 5km road race in Manchester, Gemma won the women’s race by a big margin in an excellent time of 16:28.
This was only 15 seconds outside her lifetime best for the distance.
