Get Bidding For Canine First Aid

An auction which hopes to raise funds for local dog owners to attend a canine emergency first aid training goes live this week.

The Greyt Manx Online Auction features over 130 varied lots, all of which have been donated by local businesses and individuals.

The aim of the auction, organised by the Greyhound Aid League IoM, is to raise enough funds to put at least 30 local dog owners through canine emergency first aid training.

One of the most unique lots is a personalised dog portrait, donated by award winning and globally renowned illustrator Jo Davies.

There are some great vouchers on offer, including a £200 Steam Packet travel voucher.

With colder weather just around the corner, there is a £375 pallet of kiln dried firewood donated by The Snug, plus a brand new woodburning stove donated by one of their suppliers in Northern Ireland and some lovely cosy dog coats!

Sally McMullen, Treasurer, said: “I wish we could list everything here, but with over 130 lots, it’s really worth taking the time to browse through all the listed items on our Facebook event page.

“Two lots which really captured my imagination are the mystery bags, which have received a lot of interest, and ‘any bridesmaid or prom dress of your choice’ from The Bridal House in Ramsey.

“We’re overwhelmed by the generosity we’ve received, but we already have a waiting list for the canine emergency first aid training, so the more funds we can raise the more training sessions we can offer.”

Bids close at 7pm on Sunday, November 24. More information can be found here.
