Manx Utilities is seeking information from landowners who may have suitable sites for future solar generation projects.
It says it is gathering early information to understand what land may be available and to identify any potential constraints before any procurement takes place.
The public owned energy provider said: “Solar energy is expected to form part of a wider mix of renewable technologies for the island.
“While our climate means solar won’t supply a large share of total electricity demand, it can still provide valuable daytime generation and support a more diverse energy system.
“Feasibility work is already underway on several government‑owned sites, and we are now exploring whether privately owned land could offer additional practical or economic advantages.”
