The Lieutenant Governor joined members of the local Army Cadet Forces as Honorary Colonel of the IOM ACF to this years summer camp.
The cadets travelled to Barry Buddon Camp in Scotland for their annual summer camp last week.
His Excellency joined with other officers of the Cheshire and IOM Army Cadet Forces as the cadets were put through their paces.
Cadets were involved in many different aspects of military training, including field craft and the use of firearms.
Cadet Summer Camp
Government House said: “Luckily the weather stayed fine, so this year the Cadets were not required to test out their wet weather training!
“They all agreed that to meet up with their compatriots from the UK was a great opportunity, and they were able to compare and contrast their varying experiences.
“The summer camp is a valuable and rewarding experience for all those involved, and to have their Honorary Colonel in attendance, with his many years of knowledge, greatly enhances the time spent there.”
