A planning application to install around 735kW of solar PV panels on the roof of the National Sports Centre in Douglas has been approved.
The proposal covers additional rows of panels on two roof sections at the northern end of the NSC.
Most of the wider solar scheme had already been cleared under a previous Certificate of Lawful Development, meaning only the extra rows required formal permission.
Planning officers concluded the panels would support the island’s renewable energy goals and improve the NSC’s overall energy efficiency.
