Have a Pint For Craig’s Heartstrong

Craig’s Heartstrong Foundation has been chosen as the charity to benefit from this year’s CAMRA Isle of Man Beer Festival.

The festival will be collecting donations for the local charity at its highly anticipated event in April.

The Beer and Cider Festival will be held at the Villa Marina in Douglas from April 10-12.

It’ll feature over 100 ‘real’ cask conditioned ales, 20 ‘craft’ ales and 60 ‘real’ ciders & perries, together with fruit wines and meads.

For Craig’s Heartstrong

The Festival’s ‘Good Cause’ has been named as Craig’s Heartstrong Foundation.

The charity was originally set up by the Lunt family in memory of their 25 year old son, Craig who tragically died in April 2005.

His death was due to a previously undiagnosed heart defect.

The charity enables heart screening of men and women between the ages of 14 and 35 in the Isle of Man.

This is in order to detect any possible symptoms of Hypertrophic and Dilated Cardiomyopathy and thus help prevent Sudden Death Syndrome (SDS).

By providing this vital screening service, it is then able to monitor and provide support to treat accordingly, any of these detectable heart defects to provide a healthy future for the island.
