Hickman to Ride For WizNorton at Classic

WizNorton Racing will return to the Classic TT next month with Peter Hickman set to race the WRS 588cc Rotary in the Formula 1 class.

WizNorton has become closely linked with the Norton Rotary since 2014, and last year Michael Dunlop set the quickest rotary lap at 123.505mph. The bike has previously been raced by Josh Brookes, Shaun Anderson and Dunlop.

Hickman’s ride continues a family connection: his father Dave helped develop the original Norton Rotary project after winning the 1977 Lightweight Manx Grand Prix and later working with factory Norton and Honda teams.

A 14‑time TT winner and the outright lap record holder, Hickman said the Rotary is “one of those bikes every TT fan knows,” and that riding it is especially meaningful given his father’s involvement.

WizNorton’s Andy Wilson said having the fastest rider ever to lap the TT Course on their machine is an honour, adding that years of development have brought the Rotary to its strongest form yet.

When the Classic TT returns, the famous Rotary will once again echo around the Mountain Course, this time in Hickman’s hands.
