Hopes For US Post Suspension to be Lifted

A suspension of posting goods to the United States of America is hoped to be lifted by early October.

The suspension has been in effect since August 23 in anticipation of the removal of the ‘de-minimis’ postal exemption from August 29.

This previously allowed goods under $800 to enter the US without attracting import duty.

Suspension to be Lifted

Isle of Man Post Office is continuing to work with Royal Mail to develop a solution which meets the new US customs requirements.

Currently it anticipate having this in place and being able to reinstate service in early October.

Please not that letters and correspondence remain unaffected and can continue to be sent as usual.

Any goods sent during this suspension will be returned to sender.
