A local disability darts player has secured his first corporate sponsor ahead of his journey to the Netherlands for the 2024 ParaDarts World Cup.
Callum Brew has secured sponsorship from financial solutions provider IFGL.
Brew says he’s “thrilled” to have secured his first ever corporate sponsor for his darts journey.
The sponsorship will enable Brew to afford his accommodation and travel for his upcoming events in 2024 and 2025.
He said: “Even in tough financial times, IFGL has stepped in to help me and am grateful for their support and I’m hopeful for greater achievements in the future.”
Journey to World Cup
Callum’s recent results have ranked him number 10 in the World ParaDarts rankings, which means that he has qualified to play in the World Cup in the Netherlands in November.
He has also qualified for the World Masters and World Championship at the start of January 2025.
In the mean time, Callum is also planning to participate in the Hungarian Classic and Open in Budapest in October of this year.
Callum was born with Bilateral Talipes and a serious heart condition, which meant he spent some considerable time in a wheelchair in his early childhood but after many weeks of surgery, he was able to stand.
Whilst in hospital, he was given a magnet darts set on which he played for hours.
Despite also being diagnosed with Aspergers aged 11, Callum has pursued his passion for darts and in 2015 he qualified for the World Youth Masters, reaching the last 64.
