Yasmin Ingham had her first win of the 2024 eventing season on Saturday (March 16) aboard one of her ‘young guns’ Gypsie Du Loir.
The pair tackled the elements and the reported knee deep mud in the depths of the Lincolnshire to bring home a win in the Open Novice on a 24.3 dressage score and double clear, just picking up a few planned time penalties.
Eight year old Gypsie Du Loir, who is also known as Gigi, is one of Yasmin’s young stars and started her competition campaign with the Manx rider in 2022.
Young guns
Not to be forgotten is Goliath Du Loir, who is half brother to Ingham’s World Champion, Banzai Du Loir.
The eight year old finished seventh in the Open Novice, with a double clear and on a 27.3 dressage score just picking up a few time penalties.
Yasmin’s two top horses Banzai du Loir and Rehy DJ were both due to run at Lincoln in the Open Intermediate but after the rain the decision was made to withdraw both after the dressage.
Both horses are now due to compete at the first international event of the season for Ingham at Thoresby Park where they will contest the highly competitive CCI4*S.
