Government House has shared some amazing pics from the inside of the massive renovations going on at Bishopscourt.
Since being bought a few years ago, the historic buildings and grounds have been undergoing extensive works.
Like many others, Sir John and Lady Lorimer have been intrigued by the works and they recently got a tour of the site.
The tour was given by contractor Nicholas Ingham, estate manager Robin Repetto, site managers, Karl Coulson and Mike Chatel and local archaeologist, Dr Peter Davey, for a tour of the site.
Government House said: “The owners of Bishopscourt are taking an evidence-based approach to all the works, including the interior decoration.
“Having discovered historic wallpaper fragments and paints, they are having these reconstructed for eventual use in the Great Kitchen and Refectory.
“The hope is that visitors will be able to experience an authentic mid-1800’s back of house space. His Excellency and Lady Lorimer are very much looking forward to visiting again once the works have progressed to their conclusion.
“This may be some time in the future, especially as the archaeologists keep finding ever more interesting areas to excavate.”
