A strong field of 11 teams competed at the National Sports Centre as the fourth Manx Invitational delivered a successful weekend for Isle of Man Volleyball.
Eight visiting teams from across the UK joined local sides for the event, which continues to grow each year and is helping raise the profile of volleyball on the island.
The standout result came in the women’s competition, where the Isle of Man Falcons were crowned champions after defeating Lynx Volleyball Club 25–16 in both sets.
It marks the Falcons’ second consecutive appearance in the final, this time securing the title.
In the men’s competition, the Falcons also reached the final but were narrowly beaten by the experienced Old Guys team in two closely contested sets.
Milestone
This year’s tournament also marked a milestone for the sport’s development pathway, with a junior girls team entering the competition for the first time.
The young squad impressed throughout the weekend and gained valuable experience ahead of volleyball’s inclusion in the 2029 Island Games, which the Isle of Man will host.
Supported by local fiduciary firm Atla Group, the event showcased both the standard of volleyball already being played on the island and the growing appetite among new players, juniors and visiting teams.
