A new round of the Island Infrastructure Scheme has opened, aiming to kick‑start development on long‑dormant privately owned brownfield sites across the Isle of Man.
Run by the Department for Enterprise, the scheme offers financial support to help unlock residential, commercial, retail, leisure and mixed‑use projects that are not currently viable due to the complexity and cost of preparing brownfield land.
The intention is to stimulate private‑sector investment and deliver long‑term social and economic benefits through regeneration.
Applications are open from August 2026 until the end of January 2027.
Enterprise Minister Tim Johnston MHK said the scheme had already proven “a critical tool” in progressing challenging sites, with work now under way on developments delivering both commercial and residential units. He said the projects supported so far represented multi‑million‑pound commitments that would otherwise have remained dormant.
Mr Johnston added that continuing the scheme would help maintain momentum while longer‑term policy options are developed for consideration by the next administration.
