Island Officials Outline Gambling Risk Findings

Two representatives from the Isle of Man Gambling Supervision Commission took part in the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) Plenary in Paris.

They presented a report on illicit finance risks in the global gaming and gambling sector.

Erica Humphries and Alivija Golubeva attended the meeting, with Golubeva introducing the report to FATF’s Risk, Trends and Methods Group.

The work, co‑led by the Isle of Man and Australia, updates FATF’s assessment of how criminal activity is evolving as gambling moves further online and across borders.

FATF said the report provides new risk indicators to help jurisdictions identify illicit finance linked to casinos and wider gambling activity.

The plenary also included discussions on emerging risks, FATF methodology and the practical challenges faced by regulators, giving the island an opportunity to contribute to international technical work and remain aligned with global standards.
