Residents are being invited to learn how to prepare for emergencies at the latest Isle be Ready community event in Ramsey later this month.
The free event will take place at Ramsey Town Hall on October 22 from 11am to 3pm and will bring together emergency services and partner organisations to offer practical advice on dealing with situations such as severe weather, power outages and travel disruption.
Organised as part of the Department of Home Affairs’ resilience programme, Isle be Ready aims to help individuals, families and businesses take simple steps to prepare for unexpected events and better cope with everyday challenges.
Emergency Planning Officer Jane Kelly MBE said even small preparations can make a significant difference when daily life is disrupted, adding that the event gives people a chance to speak directly with the organisations involved in emergency response.
No booking is required and members of the public can attend at any time during the event.
